This gives you the freedom to get the necessary dental work you need without a referral, whether you need specialist treatment or emergency care while traveling. PPO plans are among the most popular dental plans available, comprising a total of 80% of all dental insurance plans. UnitedHealthcare, Delta Dental, Ameritas, Humana, and Cigna Dental Insurance are among the most popular. WHAT IF MY EMPLOYER DOES NOT OFFER DENTAL INSURANCE?
If your job doesn’t include dental insurance benefits, you have three choices. First, you can find a dental insurance plan yourself. Second, you can pay everything out-of-pocket. Or third, you can use one of our office’s financing options, such as CareCredit dental financing.

WHAT IS THE BEST KIND OF DENTAL INSURANCE?
What works best for you depends on your and your family’s individual needs and budget. This may mean looking for a PPO plan that includes dental implant insurance or specialist care, like orthodontics. You should also look at the plan’s other features, such as deductibles and copays, to find the perfect compromise between full coverage and affordability. For a headstart on where to look, some of the best dental insurance providers are Cigna, Renaissance Dental, Humana, Delta Dental, and UnitedHealthcare.

WHAT DO I DO IF I DON’T HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE?
Don’t have dental insurance? No problem! Our dental office also offers alternative financing options, like Care Credit Dental and financing, to help you cover all of your bases. These allow you to afford all of your dental care—including treatments not covered by insurance—in small, manageable installments. Take the stress out of paying for your dental treatments.

WHY IS PPO INSURANCE BETTER THAN HMO INSURANCE?
Compared to other types of dental insurance, like HMO plans, PPO insurance offers greater freedom to ensure you always have access to dental care when you need it. HMO plans may be generally lower cost due to there being no deductibles and fewer offices in these networks. However, with PPO plans, you not only have a broader network available, but you don’t need a referral to see a specialist or receive emergency treatment while on vacation. Plus, if those dentists aren’t in your provider’s specific network, you can still receive some level of coverage.
